Ways to stay more hydrated.

Every year, it’s quite common to make resolutions that you intend to keep in the new year. So I thought it wise to list out a few things that we could prioritize in 2021 in addition our list of resolutions.

Last week, I noted the importance of soft exercises as a remedy for baby veins. This week, I’ll be talking about hydration.

Water is required for many physiological processes in the body. It serves as the building material for cells and body fluids; accounts for at least 60% of our body weight; transports nutrients in the body and; helps eliminate body wastes through urine. It is therefore very necessary for all individuals to always stay hydrated, not just SS warriors alone.

Sometimes drinking water frequently can be rather boring and monotonous. So here are a few tips that could make drinking water a more wholesome experience.

1. Try to dilute sodas with water and ice.
2. Frequently choose mineral water over sodas.
3. Use a calibrated water bottle.
4. Try to drink a glass before each meal and after using the bathroom.
5. Add flavor from variety of fruits to your water. eg. a slice of lemon.
6. Eat foods rich in water such as watermelon, cucumber etc.
7. Always keep a filled water bottle/jug beside you.
