Let’s turn this table around.
After all my feelings of downheartedness in the previous week as a result of the frequency of my visits to the hospital, I must appreciate you all for your well wishes and likes on both this site, the IG and FB pages, it sure went a long way to cheer me up. I can say for a fact that as a warrior there are times when you just want to experience nothing negative in your health. Its totally okay to feel that way sometimes.
My knee on the other hand did get a lot better during the week. The results from the tests showed that there was no infection in the fluid retained in my knee cap. Grateful for that too. I also stopped wearing the knee brace during the week as the swelling did reduce considerably.
I just want to call to mind a thought I’ve been having but seem to be struggling with the right way to phrase it. I’ll make an attempt.
You know when you’re a much younger adult as a warrior, the tendency is to feel defeated by the constant pain you frequently experience. I can recall many times I did feel that way most especially when experiencing a crises. All I longed for at such times was to be well once more like everybody else but the crises itself was one journey I had to go through.
Sometimes during such periods as a young warrior you tend to struggle and question why you have to constantly experience such trauma in life. You see there are really no answers to this question, as we all know that the pain alone is quite a battle to bear. However, if during such times, you question out loud the reason for your existence, you not only suffer, but your Caregivers also do too. Many times your Caregivers have their hearts in their mouth wondering if exactly you’ll make it and to constantly abhor your existence would give them reason to recount once more their choices in life.
Note that you fight as a warrior not only for yourself but also for the people that matter and who are directly or indirectly linked to your life. What you need to understand is that it will get better. The younger years on many occasions as a warrior are the toughest years because you are not fully mature and possessing the tenacity to withstand the amount of pain that you experience. It will definitely surpass is all I’m trying to say and if you keep holding on, you’ll have cause to look back one day and smile because when more storms rage at you, you’ll understand that you’ve fought worse years.
In my life, I’ve come across several warriors who have turned their difficulties into something positive or desirable (made lemonade out of their lemons). So please don’t lose your ability to fight.
Keep holding on.
