Who does this remind you of?
I’m fond of going off the grid of late, ain’t I? Lol.
You know that yearning when you are much younger, to quickly become an independent adult like your parents. Only for adulthood to finally materialize, then you wish and long for all your problems and needs to be solved again by them. Lol.
Adulthood is definitely one phase that on many occasions, isn’t easy.
Let’s set that aside and think of job responsibilities, Many individuals struggle with this area because, on most occasions, they are saddled with jobs they do not like. So they struggle day in and day out. Many who find themselves in this situation, sometimes throw in the towel to move on to other meaningful activities, only to end back at square one wishing they could turn back the hands of time.
These days, the level of relocation has become really heightened in our society. People move with high expectations for the future only to watch those hopes dashed. What then can be the solution to forestalling such an occurrence? My advice is to allow God to take the lead. Don’t make rash decisions because of temporary moments of dissatisfaction. Especially if one already has a good job.
No matter how displeasing such a job may be, harness energy to excel at the role. Give yourself time, be patient. If the source of the displeasure is a cantankerous boss, then try appealing to the individual’s softer sides. All with the aim of making the job more bearable.
The reason for this statement is because the grass always looks greener on the other side and in most cases, it isn’t. Hasty decisions made out of temporal moments of discontent can be futile. Look inward and ask truthful questions. If at the end of this exercise, the problem at the workplace arises from one’s attitude, then try to change.
Note that every job has its perks and downsides. Focus more on the perks and less on the downsides. Always keep in mind that good jobs are hard to find nowadays. It will trigger an attitude of content.
That being said, recall when I went off the grid months ago? trying to juggle and organize myself amidst all my activities. I stumbled upon a post on Instagram that literarily put certain things into perspective.
I’m going to share it with you all today and hope it resonates with some of you.
Take care.
