Meet the Author

Onuoma Usiade lives in Lagos and comes from Delta State in Nigeria.

Her joy in art (specifically writing) began years ago as a young teenager when she indulged in drawing and composing short scripts and novels. Her very first novel – “She forgave” was never published but formed the bedrock for her writing talent.

Born with Sickle Cell Disease, which was only discovered at a tender age, Onuoma suffered a major setback in her neurological health which was triggered by a very strange incidence. Her life is filled with a chain of events that one may view as not only daunting but also full of courage and bravery. She obtained a BSc. in Geography and currently works in Lagos.

In her own words, Onuoma Usiade describes writing as both fun and at the same time a lot of work. To her the whole fun in writing is the way it relieves her of stress and the joy in actually reading her finished work. She anticipates that her blog will be an avenue to bring hope to other Sickle Cell Warriors who like herself are living with the challenge of a health disorder.
