    Half full OR Half empty?

It won’t be such a bad idea to share something absurd today. Although, you may have to guess if it’s true-life or fictitious. Kindly term it as some of the multifarious problems one could encounter when they venture into life as a young adult. Before I begin, I’d like to say that sometimes there are two ways of viewing issues. Either one chooses to see their problems as a glass that’s “half full” OR a glass, that’s “half empty”. So here we go. When she ventured into world all alone, the experience to her was somewhat thrilling. Why? funds seemed to…

    You’re not helpless.

I was waiting to fully grasp my line of thought and to know what angle I meant to veer towards today. The various situations I aforementioned seemed to be the best angle, so I decided to intricately look at all, although, I don’t intend to follow their defined their order.  A brief look at the last two scenarios that certain individuals seemed to be grappling with in my previous post – (those who seemed to be all alone with no form of assistance….and; others who dealt with epileptic power situations and cost of fueling generators…). One issue may be seen…

    I’m me and you’re you.

I don’t do things the usual way, I like to defy the norm and do stuff differently. It’s not because everyone is towing a particular line of thought that I choose to tow mine. It’s not because everyone is speaking about a particular issue, that I do too. Yes, I understand that the year is basically winding down but please don’t expect me to start blogging in the usual manner because in my case, I’d like to change and veer off completely.  I stumbled on a post online, last year during the pandemic. It was a brief comment that seemed to…

    The fear of the unknown.

What so wrong in being an open book for the whole world to see? What’s so wrong in being transparent? What’s wrong in letting your problems be like stepping stones for others to move on in life? This latter statement, (not in form of the question) had been my prayer for a very long time during my youth. Now I see that the prayer has finally caught up with me.  So many times as a young adult we mutter certain words in prayer, quite unknown to us the gravity of the statement. For me, I envisaged an easy process.. “Lord…

    My tête-à-tête.

So I know I’m fond of dropping of social media and going into the back-scene but the actual fact is that on many occasions, periods of well inspired posts which one could term as “highs” is  sometimes followed by periods of being downcast or “lows”.  Why? I don’t seem to understand it myself. There are times when I could be going through what one may term as a rush of emotions when writing, such that the work turns out to be an inspired write. This could be accompanied by being low / downcast.  Right now, some of my other ideas…

    My ideal therapy.

I guess you all in one way or the other may have experienced this activity which seems to be somewhat up-lifting. Let me explain.  On this particular day that I noticed I’d been indoors each weekend, it seemed as if the four-corners of each wall in my house was in my face. My reason for being indoors is one that I can’t remember. However, the fact that it had been reoccurring each weekend seemed a bit too much.  Thoughts kept prodding my mind to step out just for a drive, sadly I resisted. Eventually the deep prodding was accompanied by…

    Close, but not the original.

I guess my greatest blocking point with writing is my inability to recall striking headlines that come to my mind during the course of my day. Just last week Friday, I had two potential blog topics that came to my mind and my inability to jot them down immediately, caused them to drift off. All my attempts at recalling the topics proved futile. You see for a writer, when you have a topic that comes to mind, and you decide to start writing, it’s like a heightened sense of emotion that puts you in a dreamy state which you can’t…

    Ample doses of happiness

If peradventure you were to quantify your measure of happiness in this world, what standards would you use? Would it be through your level of success, wealth, acquired possessions, or relationships?  I reflected on this question during the week and after much thought, I had no choice but to settle on the last of all options. Reason being, that one cannot underestimate the value of in-depth friendships and lasting relationships.   A case study of senior citizens at a retirement home revealed that majority of the aged residents longed to have their relations close by. Sadly, their absent relatives seemed to be making…

    Welcome to an enlivening experience.

Some of you that were on this site during the week when my ‘open-glare, for-all-to-see mistake’ was ongoing, may have thought my site had been hacked. So here’s what happened. I was trying to apply this new theme to my site but the mistake I made was not activating a plugin called “Site under construction” before commencing. Thus, in my bid to choose the right theme, the site to viewers kept changing in-between themes. I’m sure you get the picture. Nonetheless, it turned out to be the least of my worries, as customizing the theme came with so many hitches.…

    Care for a private conversation?

It may not be a bad idea to take a break today and chat privately with you all. How else can I appreciate you all if I frequently allow this bit to slide from time to time? I hope you all are doing good? Now some of you may be wondering why the frequency of my posts have become a bit irregular. My answer to this is that I’ve been doing some writing. In actual fact, I have written some scripts but have been unable to go forward with them especially as regards publishing. Yes! this is the project I explained…
