Whenever I got tired of weeping, running away was my biggest desire as I kept longing for was a place of peace and solitude.

I’m not here to detail the accounts of growing up with Sickle cell Disease because I know that majority of you reading this story know what obtains, rather I’m here to detail the account of the pain I felt of being viewed as an outcast by my siblings and my parents.

Sometimes when one suffers untold rejection it could cause them to turn their anger inwards

What I’m about to say today is very short. I know I’d said a while back that I had no intentions of selling my music release “Draw Nigh” but thinking of why I chose to add monetary value to it on the shop still puzzles me. Even though the link to download it for free was shared in my post Home is where the heart is.. I should’ve still made it available to download on the blog shop. My routine check on the site today flagged this error to me so I’ve thus made the necessary modifications. Kindly head over…

I seem to be writing a whole lot of articles of late so I decided to map a new category on the blog called “Magazine articles”. Enjoy reading today’s post. Oh, Lagos! All over the city people are grappling with all kinds of diverse situations that it’s become noteworthy to mention but a few. The current hike in the costs of automotive gas oil (fuel and diesel) has caused an upward spiral in living costs. There’s so much frustration in the air that lets you wonder if anarchy is silently looming. Many are suffering and enduring hunger, poverty, unemployment, lack…

Sometimes living with Sickle Cell Disease could give one a thousand limitations to live by, but guess what? Such limitations don’t define us. I’d like to tag some warriors who chose to overcome nonetheless. Although the impediments were set for them whilst growing up, they all braced up. Below are their true-life accounts. I hope it encourages us, warriors because we definitely need to defy the norm. Reference: @sicklecell101 – Faces of Sickle Cell “Proving Them Wrong”.

“Tough times never last, tough people do” ― Robert H. Schuller. Thinking once more about it, I’m trying to apply the above quote to the present situation that seems to be lurking the world over. I know I had stated earlier that we should be careful with our resources and try to put aside revenue for the future. However, with the current recession and increase in living costs, this advice may not apply anymore. I don’t mean to be a soothsayer but watching the trend all over the globe, the value of money seems to be depreciating (taking the context of Nigerian…

I had a full plate last weekend so it was quite impossible to juggle that with sending a new blog post.Just last week, I decided to take up more activities to have more work-life balance in my space. You would never believe the particular activity I chose in question. This particular activity had tremendous benefits but I started the wrong way so rather than revel in it, the aftermath turned out to be rather uncomfortable. The activity in question? going to the gym. My decision to use the treadmill for 8-10 minutes started me off on a bad note. I…

I started a project two years ago and abandoned it, why? because I lacked the vision to move it forward. Fast forward to our present day, I’m reinitiating it because my vision now is less cloudy. Sometimes it takes opening up to others to expand your horizon and see things from a much different perspective. At certain times, we could start activities with no clear vision in mind, unknown to us that someone else, out of sheer admiration has a different view on how we could harness our strength. What exactly am I saying? One should never underestimate the days…
