My hidden heart.

I know I have a shell. Tee-hee!”. What an absurd way to start a post.

However, it’s the truth and I believe that to an extent we all have our shells in a certain sort of way. A place we go to brood, reminisce, or regain strength to fight further battles that may come our way.

The only difference is the amount of time spent in these shells.

In the loudest quiet times of our lives, some of us slip into these shells and quietly snap out of them. Then there are those of us, that spend a little more time because it’s a place we’ve grown to love, nurture and accept. Finally, some of us slip into these quiet places and never leave because the outside world seems beset with much noise, criticism, and stress.

Which one would you confirm as yours?

Many of us are so burdened with the events of life that we hardly have the time to search deep within and harness strength from the quiet lurking deep within us OR could it be that we fight not to be in such a state whenever we slip into it?

My deepest sadness stems not from slipping into such quiet spaces and being enthralled by them. Rather, from being forgotten by others when we slip into such spaces, and to be branded as weird or mysterious. Sometimes looks they say, can be deceiving.

Most of the wisest people I’ve known have shells. It may take a little to drag them out but whenever they speak their voices can be heard in a thousand ways. Why? Because they have learned to harness the power of the shells. Many times, such individuals brood in silence and from there find the strength to make the toughest turns or decisions that life throws at them. It’s not as if they chose to be in their shells but life happened and threw stones at their glass houses.

Why have I chosen to tow this line?

You cannot tell a book by its cover. Sometimes that book needs to be read a bit to fully grasp its purpose.

Every one of us has peculiar traits and characters that set us apart. We never chose the lives we were given. Had we been given a chance, then we surely would have chosen differently.

Everyone should be given a little breather to prove their worth, don’t just generalize and thrust the package aside simply because it’s not what you’d expected. Many souls are hurting and longing for one person that would have faith to understand the shell in them.

Don’t be a critic, please don’t be.
