Welcome to 2025 and Happy New Year to you all.
Hope your year-end celebration was filled with joy and not mixed emotions.
I recall a conversation that once ensued. The person was explaining that at the end of each year, they make a mental note of all the achievements they could not attain, and this causes them to plunge into a state of despair. As I listened quietly, I kept noting how fortunate this person was to have reached their present level. It caused me to ponder what might be of immense worth that could be absent from such a status. This was someone I admired from afar.
Sometimes, when we allow our ambition to get the best of us, we strive and are many times, in lack simply because we choose to ignore the mercies that come with each passing day. However, if we constantly recall that we cannot create even a strand of hair on our heads, It changes our paradigm and enable us develop an attitude of thankfulness.
Imagine times when we are in a hurry, and we get caught up between slow-moving vehicles or red traffic lights that seem to slow us down even further. If we choose to ponder why this happens and count the delay as the mercy of God in sparing us what could be an unfortunate situation, we become less impatient and more grateful.
The grass does look greener on the other side but let’s not forget that our blessing could be another individual’s prayer point.
Therefore, my prayer for you is to draw from God’s immense grace and to keep forging on. There are so many happenings world over, that give us cause to sigh, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, It’s the fact that the more thankful we are in every situation releases an atmosphere for God’s intervention.
Talk to you soon.
